Greenacres Disability Services held its first Art Union in the early 1980's with a hand-full of volunteers selling tickets from a caravan using the white pages telephone directory. We've come a long way since then. We are now very much a professional team selling Lucky Draw tickets to the local community. We have 3 Lucky Draws per year
With the proceeds of past Lucky Draws, we have been able to purchase many work aids, specialised equipment, training programs, wheel chair buses and access equipment that is not provided for in our government funding. This much needed equipment helps us to improve the quality of life of our Day Support Services consumers.
There are some wonderful prizes-
1st prize is a choice of 3 prizes (generally a car, travel, shopping spree to the value of approx $20,000.00). There are also a number of runner-up prizes.
Tickets are just $30 and only about 6200 tickets go into the barrel at each Lucky Draw so your odds of winning a prize are really quite good!
It is becoming so much harder to fundraise for our Lucky Draws as there are so many charities out there also selling tickets by telephone. The difference is that we ONLY sell tickets in the Illawarra & Shoalhaven to help our local people with intellectual disability. Your support really does make a difference and is greatly appreciated by our service.
