"Two Streams" Nowra

Park Road, Nowra is the centre for Greenacres 'Two Streams' Aboriginal early intervention program. In partnership with Shoalhaven High School (opposite the centre) Greenacres facilitates academic and cultural support for Aboriginal students at risk of leaving school; we provide the students with training across living skills and work associated skills through a tailored version of Greenacres 'Workskills for Life Program'. We also focus on academic support by teaching students to plan their curriculum responsibilities and by providing them with the facilities (including IT) to complete their homework and assessments. Shoalhaven High provides subject specific tutors for individual support to assist in this process. The service is jointly funded by Greenacres, DEEWR and ADHC in a combined concerted effort to break the cycle of young Aboriginal students at risk of leaving school.
