Greenacres Retirement Options

The Greenacres Retirement Options or GRO provides a centre based day program for eligible individuals. The service is open between 9.00am and 3.00pm and offers a variety of activities both at the centre and in the community. These include community access (e.g. clubs for meals and entertainment, shopping) recreation (e.g. ten-pin bowling, movies), gardening, woodwork and social outings. The retirees meet at a central location but transport is available to those who require it. Assistance for each activity is also provided, the average being one GRO staff member to five retirees. Priority is given to those individuals over the age of 55 that are retiring from a business service or have already retired and, still living with a family member. Retirees that live with a parent carer have the highest priority.
