Lyndhurst Drive Community Participation, Bomaderry
The Lyndhurst Drive Centre provides centre-based support for young people with very high to exceptional support needs including intellectual disability and physical disability in the Southern Illawarra area. The aim of the service is to assist the service users to access the local community and be provided with experiences that enhance involvement in their daily lives. This includes being given the opportunity to make choices and using technology, to assist the individuals take some control of their life.

Programs are conducted either in the community or at the Centre. Each service user is offered a minimum of 4-5 days placement per week. An average of 8 consumers currently attends the centre each day.
Individual planning
An Individual Plan is a written plan of action outlining steps to meet training and environmental goals and objectives necessary to improve the quality of life to a person with a developmental disability.
All service users attending the Centre have an Individual Plan completed within six months of starting with the service. Active participation from the service user (if possible) and carers is actively encouraged. IP's ensure that all people involved with the consumer are assisting them to work towards their own goals.
